Sandhya III

Sandhya is that time when day and night meet. It comes twice in a day.
Now, in this third part of sandhya, I am narrating four hymns of Yajurveda with its explanations. With the help of these hymns, we use to feel nearness with the god that is why these hymns are called 'Upasthaan' verses-
Upasthaan Mantras
Om udvayam tamasaspari swah pashyant uttaram devam devatra suryamaganm jyoti ruttamam.
O god! u r away from ignorance, you have existence after the end of this universe too. U are present everywhere with miraculous and divine properties and u are supreme-soul who lives in both alive and non living things. We should get ur finest illuminated form with truthfulness.
Om udutyam jatvedsam devam vahanti ketavah drishe vishwaye suryam.
O most prosperous master of the world! U produce the whole prosperity and u illuminate the souls of living things. All the elements of this world works as flags to show ur divine properties and character. As the flags show the way to move any particular place, with similar account, rules of the universe and vedas etc. define u exactly.
Om chitram devana mudgadneekam chakshurmitrasya varunasyagne apra dyava prithvi antarikshagwam surya atma jagatastasthushashcha swaha.
O our master! You are always illuminated within hearts of scholars and yogis. We wish that you will be illuminated in our hearts. You are power of divine materials. So you give light to the persons those are without love and hate, the sun & life wind; means one who does high quality actions, life wind which take away things from body, life wind that distributes material in whole body, fire principle & different types of knowledges. You create dyau(stars like sun etc.), earth and the whole space, and operate them all. God! You are creator of living and no living-things of this world and you live within them all. As the vedas say we must attend the truth with our mind, speech and actions.
Om tachchakshurdevahitam purastachchhukramuchcharat pashyem shardah shatam, jeevem shardah shatam, shrunuyaam shardah shatam, prabravaam shardah shatamadeenah shardah shatam bhuyashcha shardah shataat.
O god! You, similar to eyes, are viewer from the indefinite time period, for the sake of scholars and the whole world having form of pure flame and present for everyone. We may see you for hundred winter seasons. We should be alive for hundred winters. We should listen Vedas, vedic literature and sermons with holy speeches. We should teach vedas etc. and explain truth for hundred winters. We should not be dependent till hundred winters and if we live more than hundred years, we should be alike.
See u in last post of Sandhya, Sandhya IV, in next post.

Sandhya II

One who uses to study vedas and does not make his character according to its teachings, to that character less person, even vedas can not make pious whether he might study vedas with its six parts. To this type of person, knowledge of vedas leaves like a bird which leaves its dear nest after growth of its wings.
So, we must understand well that we have only one target and that is to pass our life having sublime and pious character according to the teachings of vedas and having faith in the existence of God, religion, re-birth and actions with its fruits etc.
The science and knowledge of god is contained within vedic hymns. But for this wide spread and grand knowledge and creation, a person uses to think ever. The main reason behind this sandhya is that we should become one with holy thoughts of the god and we should continue to pray - O God! u live with us ever, having greatness and strangeness.
(Mansa Parikrama Mantras)
Now I am giving you meanings of six more hymns of sandhya-
Om prachi digagniradhipatirasito rakshitaditya iswah. Tebhyo namo adhipatibhyo namo rakshitribhyo nama ishubhyo nama ebhyo astu. Yoasmaan dveshti yam vayam dvishmastam vo jambhe dadhmah.
O omniscient god! you are present in front of us in east, you are unbound king and protector. You created the sun whose arrow like rays give life on earth. For your ownership, protection and granting life, O god, we salute you again and again. Persons who have ill-desires for us and for whom we have ill-desires, we leave this matter on your capacity of justice.
Om dakshina digindro adhipatistirashchiraji rakshita pitar ishwah. Tebhyo namo adhipatibhyo namo rakshitribhyo nama ishubhyo nama ebhyo astu. Yoasmaan dveshti yam vayam dvishmastam vo jambhe dadhmah.
O prosperous god! you are present to our right in south. You save us from the livings organisms having no bones like snakes. And gives us knowledge through scholars. For your ownership, protection and granting life, O god, we salute you again and again. Persons who have ill-desires for us and for whom we have ill-desires, we leave this matter on your capacity of justice.
Om prateechi digvaruno adhipatih pradaku rakshitannamishvah. Tebhyo namo adhipatibhyo namo rakshitribhyo nama ishubhyo nama ebhyo astu. Yoasmaan dveshti yam vayam dvishmastam vo jambhe dadhmah .
O store house of beauty! you are present behind us in west and u r our king. You protect us from living organisms having big skeletons and poisonous animals. And you protect our life with food. For your ownership, protection and granting life, O god, we salute you again and again. Persons who have ill-desires for us and for whom we have ill-desires, we leave this matter on your capacity of justice.
Om Udeechi diksomoadhipatih swajo rakshitashnirishvah. Tebhyo namo adhipatibhyo namo rakshitribhyo nama ishubhyo nama ebhyo astu. Yoasmaan dveshti yam vayam dvishmastam vo jambhe dadhmah .
O father! You are present to our left in north and you are most prosperous master of us. You can do anything yourself and you are our protector. U save our life wind by giving movement to planets and stars and giving movement to blood in every living organism with electricity. For your ownership, protection and granting life, O god, we salute you again and again. Persons who have ill-desires for us and for whom we have ill-desires, we leave this matter on your capacity of justice.
Om dhruvadigvishnuradhipatih kalmashgreevo rakshita virudh ishwah. Tebhyo namo adhipatibhyo namo rakshitribhyo nama ishubhyo nama ebhyo astu. Yoasmaan dveshti yam vayam dvishmastam vo jambhe dadhmah.
O omnipresent god! You are master of universe while having presence in the countries present in the direction below us. You save our life winds with the help of green colored trees or climbers etc. For your ownership, protection and granting life, O god, we salute you again and again. Persons who have ill-desires for us and for whom we have ill-desires, we leave this matter on your capacity of justice.
Om urdhva digbrahspatiradhipatih shvitro rakshita varshmishwah. Tebhyo namo adhipatibhyo namo rakshitribhyo nama ishubhyo nama ebhyo astu. Yoasmaan dveshti yam vayam dvishmastam vo jambhe dadhmah .
O great god! You are - present in the places of our upward direction, sublime, our master and protector. You irrigate our crops by raining so that the food, operator of our life, may grow. For your ownership, protection and granting life, O god, we salute you again and again. Persons who have ill-desires for us and for whom we have ill-desires, we leave this matter on your capacity of justice.

See u in next post with remaining part of sandhya.

Thanking U

Sandhya(Prayers at dawn or dusk)

According to Vedas, our rishis have said that we should pray to god at the time of dawn and dusk regularly. Prayers are offered twice a day.
Actually every hymn of Vedas has a lot of meanings as said by Aadi Guru Brahma. But as we search in the translation of vedas by Swami Dayanand Saraswati, we get only one meaning for a hymn generally. Although meanings are found in two senses spiritual and materialistic for many hymns. Actually for understanding well, the meanings of vedic hymns, a very great guru is needed. Now-a-days such types of gurus are not available in this world. Although by deep search, some one hidden, may be found out.
Now I shall explain you hymns of  of vedic Sandhya(prayers). At present I am taking the following hymns which are related to the creation of this Universe-
Om ritancha satyanchabhi dhattapaso adhyajayata tato ratrajayata tatah samudro arnavah.
The god, by using a bit of his infinite capacity, constructed the present working Universe from the initial nature particles. And with his own common nature(property), he made source of water, the oceans.
Om samudra darnavadadhi samvatsaro ajayata ahoratrani vidadhadvishasya mishato vashee.
After creation of the ocean, he produced a motion so that day-night and twelve months of the year came to an existance.
Om surya chandramasau dhata yatha poorvamakalpayat divancha prithvim chantarikshamathau swah.
Similar to the previous existence of the Universe(previous Kalp), the god created the Sun, the Moon, stars and planets, Dyau(the whole space) and the earth etc.
Remaining parts of this sandhya will be published in parts in next posts respectively.
In this post I have introduced you about how this universe is made. These hymns are an important part of our vedic Sandhya in which we use to think about the beginning of the world regularly.

A Guest is a God

When a guest comes to us with out any pre-information is called 'Atithi' and in our mythology 'Atithi' is compared to a god.
A guest who is full of spiritual light, truth speaker, well wisher of all, scholar and yogi when comes to our house, we should serve him with sweet and polite speech, food and different things of his interests. We should please him with these things. After that with conversation with him we should get knowledge of religion, getting money, completing our desires and getting salvation too. And we should make our character and actions according to his teachings. A ruler and other house masters are too the persons who may get full entertainment at our house.
A guest is called god [A god is that who gives something] because he after coming to our house gives us pleasure, different information or different things for our children etc. that is why he is called god.
Now we must understand well that every guest is not just like a god. The persons who criticize negatively the true knowledge, whose behavior is opposite the behavior decided by our constitution, liar, having actions like a cat who fills its stomach by snatching the rat etc at once from its place, are not the persons who may get entertainment. We should not entertain them even with our speech. We should not give them anything and should  not speak them a single word of politeness. Because if we serve them and think that he is a guest-god, we may loss our progress after getting the bad inspirations from their life. This type of persons act negatively and inspire others to do so that is why they are not able to get any entertainment. These persons are called 'Pakhandi'. We can look at the following verse which is taken from 'ManuSmriti':
Pakhandino vikramsthan vaidal vrittikan shathan. Hetukan vakvritteenshch vangmatrenapi narchayet.
Actually, the persons who are not able to get any entertainment should not be rebuked. Because if we become angry on them, it will not be possible to improve their behavior in future. So we should use polite words to every one but some situations need punishment too. So it is said that -
"Samay ke anukul karm karna chahie." Lord Krishna made this proverb true. which means, we should act according to the need of time.
Now, when we see the other phase of this thought we find that serving and protecting anybody else will not go in vain. For it, I am narrating a story which is related to Lord Manu.

Once upon a time, our first king, Lord Manu went to a river for bathing early in the morning. When he dipped his bathing pot into the river, a very small fish (child - fish) came into the pot with water. Manu looked at it. It was very frightened of other big fishes. It prayed to Lord Manu to save it from those big fishes. She told that they might eat her.[Actually Manu was a yogi too and a yogi can understand the language of other animals; their are some medicines that they used to take from plants to understand the language of different living organisms.] Now, Manu took it to his palace and he made a pond for it and leave it into that pond after filling it with fresh water. After sometime, when it became young and big enough, he left it into the river again. When, it was going towards sea, it told Lord Manu, "O king! u are the most kind king. I shall help you when you will need it. And it foretold that after sometime the earth will become full of water because the flood is about to come after some years. Then, I shall come to u and I too shall save ur life as u have saved mine." After some years, the flood came and as fish had promised it came to Manu. Manu had prepared a very big boat(ship) to save him with some more living organisms from this flood. Actually at that time the earth became full of water and there was no place except mountains where any human being might take shelter. Now the fish had grown to a very big fish. It took the ship of Manu to high hill areas and saved the life of Manu with their well wishers. Manu made a rule and said, "Save others, they will save you at your typical time." So we should protect everyone. We don't know who will help us at our opposite time.
Similarly serving others makes a man strong. Actually 'serving is the power of woman', is said by some scholar. Any work what we do never goes waste. That is why we should do something positive and should not waste our time.
We should behave every one politely except some wicked persons.
I have studied Urdu literature too. Similar story is found in this literature with some little changes. In that literature that story is found with name 'Nooh ki Kashti'.
