Birth of Hanuman

When Pawan went to study to a Rishi Ashram, his body was extra ordinarily strong and big. Seeing his consumption once his gurudev told him, “Dear Son! Use this strength of your body for the sake of Rishis and sages and against rascals. Be a celibacy observer and protect Rishis and sages.” He studied there several learnings. At the age of 24 years he returned to his house. His parents as well as family members welcomed him. His parents wanted to marry him a girl named as Anjana. When he came to know about marriage he thought about the promise what he had given to his gurudev. So he went to him to ask the permission. He told the whole matter to his gurudev. Rishi permitted him marry with Anjana but he dictated him to remain celibacy observer till the age of 36.
It was a great ceremony of marriage of prince Pawan and princess Anjana. When they both came to their house, Pawan told Anjana about the promise he had given to his gujrdev. Anjana too was a scholar and good conduct lady. She gave him consent to complete the promise. Now Pawan went to fight with Kubair.

While fighting, once he saw a love pair of Chakwa and Chakwi. Seeing them he immediately thought about his wife. When he made calculation, he found that it was the time of just 12 years when he left his nation. He thought that it will be a great offence if he did not move to her. He just returns to his house taking his vehicle. He directly moved to the room of his wife and after passing whole of night with his wife, he returned back to the war urgently which was being held without meeting any other person of his family because he was in hurry. Mother Anjana became pregnant. After some months when it became clear to her family that she was pregnant, Pawan’s parents blamed her and told her blemished and asked whose child that was in her womb. They heard nothing from what she said. Saying her ‘black-wombed’ and to be worn her black clothes and on black flagged chariot send her out of their nation. Now she moved towards her father’s nation but when her parents saw her black clothed, blemished they forbade to accept her and made her chariot returned. So she became exiled from both father and father-in-law.

By the chariot driver she was left in dense forest. She had specific knowledge about Sun. She passed her time in a cave. Early in the morning she used to pray the Sun and used to think about the science of Sun how it protects all living organisms on the earth and is the main source of food on the earth. When Hanuman was in her uterus even she had taught her the basic science of Sun. She used to perform Surya pranayam and used to take life rays from the Sun.

Great persons always born in such circumstances. Maharaja Krishna was born in jail, Ram was exiled who bore a hard life in forests and Hanuman was too born in forests where her mother used to take food from Sun, wild trees. She bore a hard life in the cave. And after 9 months and some days a baby was born. His body was hard like a club. Just then Anjana’s maternal uncle was passing from the forest riding on Pushpak plane. He heard the sound of a lady and her babe. He stopped there and found her own sister’s daughter in that horrible condition. He asked her the reason of that condition. She explained him the whole matter briefly. He took both of them and moved towards his house. The Pushpak plane was opened and there were several taps on its boundaries. Hanuman was very active. He thought the tap like toy and take a tap in his mouth. Just then he fell below on the earth from the plane. Anjana shrieked and thought that her baby will not remain alive. They both alighted from the plane and when they saw him, he was playing on the ground but his lower jaw (in Hindi ‘hanu’ or jabda) had became bent upward (in Hindi ‘maan’ or upar utha hua) that is why they named him Hanuman.

On the other hand Pawan returned to his nation after winning the war. When he did not find Anjana in the palace, he asked about her to the parents. When they told him that they have exiled her in black clothes because of being blemish, he explained them that the baby was his own and he left the home in search of mother Anjana.

Now he reached the forest and while searching he found and ornament of Anjana near a rock in front of that cave. He thought that possibly his wife is eaten up by some wild animal so he gathered some wooden sticks and logs, and lighted the fire. He decided to suicide in the separation of his wife. Because of excess love, he too wanted to be killed like his wife.

On the other hand, Anjana reached to his parents. The news of Pawan’s arrival had reached there and mother Anjana, having reached to his parents asked about any arrival news of Pawan. She at once reached to his father-in-law’s nation. They were anxious about Pawan and were very accused about their behavior what they had done to her. In search of Pawan she too reached to the forest. When she reached there, she saw her husband litting fire and approaching to the altar. She caught his hand and said, “O Prabhu! What are you doing this?” Seeing her in front of his eyes Pawan said, “O Devi! Where had you gone? In your separation I wanted to burn myself in this flame.” She replied, O Husband! I am here alive.” She gave him solace and now mother Anjana, Prince Pawan with Hanuman returned to their place.

This story says us that great persons are born in odd circumstances ever not in easy one.

Greed

Don’t Be Greedy

Once upon a time in a forest a hunter was returning after killing a rabbit, burdening it on his soldiers. He saw a pig some distance away. He thought that “I must hunt it too as to get enough meat for long days.” So he put an arrow on his bow and pushes the string of the bow. The pig had become aware by the activity of that hunter. He shot the arrow which points out to his stomach. In anger the pig ran towards him opening his mouth wide. Now the hunter needs to shoot another one. As he was about to shoot, he saw a snake below him on the ground, he feared a lot and could not take decision of shooting and in between the time pig closed his dangerous mouth on the lower part of his abdomen so he became unconscious within a second. He fell down on the snake after being killed. The snake too dies. After some minutes the pig too died. Now in the evening a jackal was passing through the path where all four dead bodies were lying.

The jackal became very much pleased to see the dead bodies. He was very much hungry. But he thought that “I shall eat the tasty meat of human being which ends more than fifteen days, at last. I will eat the meat of pig for 15 days. One day will be my food , the rabbit’s tasty meat. One time shall I pass by meat of snake and now I am going to chew tasteless leather of string of bow.” Saying it he started chewing the string and as he touched it the stretched string shot the arrow which directly runs to the jackal and he too became dead.

So O dear readers by this story we came to know that the greed is to be abandoned. In Vedas too it is said, ‘Ma Gridhah’ (do not covet). These words are taken from Yajurved||1||40||. The hymn is given below-

Om Eishavasyamidam sarvam yatkincha jagatyam jagat
Ten tyakten bhunjeethah ma gridhah kasya sviddhanam.

Kumbhkaran’s Sleep of Six Months

Sleeping Six Months and Awaking Six Months of Kumbhkaran

In our culture it is said, as my dear Mahanand Ji described many times, it is a general saying in modern age that Kumbhkaran used to be busy in sleeping for six months and he would awake for six months. It is said. But It was seen to me that Maharaj Kumbhkaran used to reach his laboratory on mountains for six months. He accepted it as night for six months that “I am not present in nation, not in world. It is my duty to remain there in research centre.” He had this much scientific development. He educated Meghnad too. As scientist like Kumbhkaran had practice of six months, he never became intermixed in the things of the world. His life used to be so. He would come to nation, would teach to scientists in the scientific centers of Ravan. Likewise his life would be hidden for six months and six months he would devote for governmental arrangements of nation.

Maharishi Bharadwaj made Kumbhkaran a great scientist. He used to give education of weapons, vehicles for six months. He used to do research and manufacture in his science lab in the caves of Himalayas.

Kalp Vriksha

Kalp Vriksha Tree
[A tree below which all desires may be fulfilled]

[Story from 'Alankaar Vyakhya' of Br. Krishna Dutta Ji's Literature]

Once devine sage Narad was wandering on Earth. While walking, he saw a sad man. He was sad because his wife was of very quarreling nature. She regularly would punish her husband. In stead of service she used to punish. For the fear of his wife, once he was praying the god in a solitary place, "O God! Just now I am in great sorrow. Please bring me with you from here." Meanwhile devine sage Maharishi Narad reached there. Narad Muni said, "Bhai! Come. Let me bring you to Heaven." With pleasure that man said, "Yes please my Lord."

Narad said to him, "Hey! This is the gate of Heaven." In front of that gate, there was a Kalp Vriksh. Narad Muni said to him, "Stay below the Kalp Vriksh and I am going to Lord Vishnu to get order whether there is any place of you in Heaven or not." Now Narad Ji went to the hermitage of Vishnu and that human stayed below the Kalp Vriksha. Slow fragrant wind was flowing. In his heart arose an imagination that here so much cool slow fragrant air, which makes pleasing, is flowing, here should be a beautiful carpet. Children! The carpet spread at once. When he sat on carpet, his strength of imagination arose that here shold be a bed. That one was Kalp Vriksha 'Here as the imagination is made, the things use to come at once.' The bed also appeared there. Now in his mind the imagination came, O here must be a lot of nymphs, young girls. So a lot of girls too came and started serving. At the time, in the mind of the human came the remambrance of his earthly wife, saying, "If that one wife had been here, there might be a thick stick for me." Now Children! See that one wife of earth too came there. Now there is stick on his head and he is moving forth and the wife is behind him bringing the stick.

Meanwhile divine sage Narad Ji reached and exclaimed with surprise. Narad Muni spoke loudly "Hey! Leave the imagination." When he left the imagination, he saw, there is no wife, no nymph, no mat, no bed. There is only a Kalp Vriksha. With surprise sage Narad said to him, "O great sinner! You made the imagination of worldly enjoyment below this Kalpvriksha too! If you had imagination of Heaven, you might get the Heaven. If you had imagination of being a sage, you might become a sage. If you had imagination of meeting Vishnu, you might meet Vishnu." See! If we resolve, do that one resolve so that you may become igneous and may not become an athiest. You may go to Heaven.

When Supreme Soul made this universe, the souls as well as gods said, "O God! Which type of this world you made?" Thence the God replied, "The world what I made is a type of Kalpa Vriksha. Whatever imagination the soul will do, will become the same, Whatever imagination you will do today shall become that one and that one thing you shall get. But the determination must be accurate, the determination must have discretion, wisdom. So that the human life may become holy, pious"

Why Ravana was called Dashanan

There are ten directions to which Ravana knew well that is why he was called ‘Dashanan’. He did not have ten heads in reality.
(Information: Name of Ravana’s father was Manichand Ketu. His grandpa was Pulastya Rishi. Name of his childhood was Varun Ketu. Meaning of word ‘Ravana’ is ‘Great Donator’. This name is not curse. He was a great Scholar of Vedas.)

The directions are as follows:

Direction(English)     Direction(Hindi)          It’s Devta (Deity)

Da

Once teacher of gods, Brahsapati, teacher of human beings and teacher of Devils, Shukracharya, all the three went to Prajapati, the teacher of all, to learn more. When they all asked Prajapati to teach something for the sake of their pupils, he commanded them ‘Da’.

After getting the teaching of ‘Da’ Shukracharya thought himself “We, demons, never show pity for anyone. We are very cruel for others. So Prajapati has taught us Da means Daya (Pity)”. He returned and started teaching for being pitiful to all.

The teacher of human beings thought, “All human beings collect a lot and they never donate so Prajapati told ‘Da’ means Daan (Donation). After returning he started teaching to donate.

Now the teacher of gods, Brahaspati thought Da for Daman. He thought that gods use their sense and working organs a lot. So he taught, them to control their sense and working organs means Daman.

So by the letter ‘Da’ he gave teaching of Daya, Daan and Daman to Devils, Human Beings and Gods respectively.

In this story it is taught that a single teaching worked for all kinds of persons severally.

Mother Gargi

Mother Gargi

It is 28th Kalyug of 7th Manvantar named as Vaiswat going on. Today is, 8th date , Krishna Paksha of 10th Month Paush, Vikrami 2069, Kalpabd 1,97,29,49,113 Varsh, Srityabd 1,96,08,53,113 Varsh. New Year will be held on 11th April of 2013 A.D.

Let us talk about our second great lady of India whose name is alive in the world till now. She had been a celibacy observer till the departure fro her body.

She was studying in an Ashram of a Rishi, in dense forests. Once when Gurudev observed her in his Ashram he found her nowhere. He thought “Where she may go?” She was only four years old then. He became too anxious about her that he left the Ashram in search of her. When he went to a place in dense forests near a big tree, he found her singing Vaidic Mantras so sweetly and skillfully and with so much depth that a lot of violent creatures like lion, snakes and wolves etc. were gathered near her in a queue to listen to song of Vaidic Hymns, the poetry of God and forgot the violent nature of theirself by listening the non violent sound of the poetric stanzas.  Actually Vedic Mantras are the stanzas of poetry created by the supreme power god himself that is why they are full of the waves of non violence. And every creature has a soul within itself that is why it uses to be thirsty of the hymns, which are made by his own father. And Gargi was singing so sweetly with the deep feelings of her heart that it made a non violent effect on violent creatures that is why they all were gathered there to listen the pronounciation of the Learning of their own father God from her mouth.

When Rishi saw this scene he amazed, “How much great soul this daughter Gargi has!”

Meet you with second story of Mother Gargi soon in just next post.

Mother Madalsa : Part - 3

Mother Madalsa : 3

When that fifth son of Madalsa was not taught by her, with the help of growing in only the thoughts of Nation, he became a person of national feelings. Now when he became twelve years old, she gathered the king as well as him. She said to the king, “O king! I am about to leave this body of mine now as I have told you before because now the heir of yours will become a king as you desired from me and he is 12 years old now.” She prepared a will for his son and with the help of a thread she put it in his neck as necklace. And then, she by talking deep breath left the body forever with the help of pranayaam.
This son of Madalasa became king of Ayodhya. When his grandsons too took birth he did not leave to forests as the custom of Manu dynasty to become sanyasi.
Three elder brothers of the king Maharishi Shilak, Maharishi Dalabhya  and Maharishi Pravhan etc. came to him and said to him, “O king! As the custom of our dynasty, you must take sanyas after giving your throne to your son.” But he forbade to do it. The three sanyasis went to neighboring king and ordered him to attack Ayodhya. That king attacked on him and make him prisoner. In the jail, he when became very much frustrated and depressed he thought and then his memory made him thinking about the necklace given by his mother Madalsa. He opened the letter in which he read the teaching of his mother that “O dear son! This world is moving like the same as a custom from the beginning. There is no conclusion behind worldly desires of this world.”
He thought abut these words deeply and his influence of previous births started arising forth. He realized that he must take Sanyas. So he called the King and other courtiers. Then in front of them he accepted the Sanyaas and went to forests to perform penance after offering the reign of Ayodhya to his elder son.

After finishing this story I want to tell you about what happened in Delhi recently with that girl. If our mothers/sisters will make their role model to the Indian ladies of the past like Madalsa, Savitri, Sita, Apaala, Gargi etc., there will be no cause that any vulgar man may touch them even with his thoughts, feelings. Because this type of offense is increased in our India because we are following the culture of west not of our own Vedic Culture. Our ruler too is giving honor to several religions not to Vedicism. He is Secular that is why he has no religion I must think. You know 'Yatha Raja Tatha Praja' a lot of persons who are influenced by only national feelings (not spiritual) are follower of no-relegion concept. Without right religion a person is nothing. O sisters/mothers if we will have some mothers like these ladies of ancient India in modern India, we may get Dalabhya, Shilak, Dhruv, Lav-Kush, Bharat like sons of Bharat in furture then.
So please make your role model (Ideals) to them not to ‘Madhubala’, ‘Hema Malini’, ‘Madhuri Dixit’ or ‘Katarina’ etc.

Mother Madalsa : Part - 2

Mother Madalsa : 2
When Madalsa became pregnant second time, the king was thinking that this one will become king of Ayodhya but he said nothing to Madalsa because of the promise he had given to her. On the day of birth of the second son, a lot of pleasure was spread to the whole reign of king of Ayodhya.
Now according to her determination Madalsa started educating her second one too as a Guru. So in the age of 5 years he was convinced that these earthly pleasures of organs are no longer stay that is why he too, requested her mother, “O mother! I want to go to forests for penance.” She, with pleasure replied, “O Dear Son! Surely you may go.” And the second son too went to the dense forests to become a sanyasi and a rishi.
The same happened third time too and Madalsa taught her third son all that she had taught to the previous sons. When he requested Madalsa, “O mother! I too want to go to dense forests.” She asked, “Why do you want to perform penance?” He replied, “Mother! I am coming from several other life periods and want to get the obligation of god that is why with celibacy I want to make my organs full of penance and so for the penance I want to move there so that I may clear the path of salvation.” Madalsa permitted him too, “O dear son! You may perform your penance.”
When Madalsa became pregnant fifth time, the king said to her, “O Devi! Who will rule the capital? All the sons till now have become sanyasi. There must be a son who may become the prince of my reign.” She with anger, exclaimed, “O king! I have already told you before not to maddle with my determination but you now want it so I shall have to break my decision. You tried to break your own promise. It’s o.k. now you shall get an heir of your kingdom. But as I have told at the time of marriage, I shall leave my body when your heir will become 12 years old.” The king thought, “Of what peculiar type this Devi is?”
She gave no education to the child since the time of his presence in her uterus. When he was born she did not teach him even a single teaching. The baby started growing in the thoughts of the Nation only.

Mother Madalsa : Part - 1

Mother Madalsa : 1
As I have promised you in the beginning, I am introducing you one great daughter of Aaryavart(Bharat, India) named as Madalsa.
She was studying in the Ashram of a Rishi when she said to her guru, “Gurudev! I do not want to enter Grahastha Ashram (married life) ever.” By nature Rishis use to be very polite so he said, “Daughter! As you wish.”
After some years when she became young she again requested her guru after studying about a chapter of Veda which was related to birth of great sons, “O Gurudev! I wish that I shall enter Grahastha Ashram to give birth to great babies.” Rishi replied, “As you wish daughter!”
Once a prince of Manu Dynasty, came to this Ashram when he was wandering in the forests. The prince saw Madalsa and he thought about her that  a Devi of this kind must be there in his kingdom as his wife. He, at once reached to the Rishi and requested him, “Bhagwan! A devi like that girl of your Ashram must be there in my palace, who may increase the dignity of my kingdom so I want to marry her.” The Rishi replied, “Ask it from her yourself.” The prince went to her and said to her, “O Devi! I want that a Devi like you must live in my capital, Ayodhya to be dignified in my palace as well as kingdom as my wife. I request you to move to my palace after marriage with me.” Madalsa said , “O Dev! I can marry you but I have one determination and you will have to give me promise that I shall teach my children till the age of five years myself. In case, you break your promise, I will leave my body within twelve years from that time.” The price accepted the words of her. After conversation with Rishi, he married with her and Madalsa went to the Manu Dynasty to become queen of Ayodhya.
When she became pregnant, she used to talk the soul of the baby of her uterus with the help of process of “Praan Vidya”. By entering praan to apaan and then apaan to vyaan, vyaan udaan and udaan to samaan. By this process of the ‘Vital Air Learning’ she used to talk to her baby and used to teach him even in the period of pregnancy. According to Vedas, she took herbs what she had studied in the Ashram of her Gurudev. In separate months she used the required herbal medicines.
When the baby was born she herself became his teacher and taught the learning of ‘Brahm’ according to Vedas. When the son became five years old, he told her mother, “ O Mother! I want to go to forests for penance please give me order.” Madalsa said, “O Dear son! You surely can go.” So he went to forests for performing penance to improve his sense and working organs etc. and became a Sanyasi Rishi.

Honorarium

Once a rishi, named Vartentu, when finished the education of his pupil Kauts Brahmchari, told him to leave the Asharam and to go to his house to lead the remaining life with peace according to the teachings given by him. Now Kauts brahmchari had grown to a scholar of Vedas.
Next day, when he was leaving the Asharam he told his guru, "Guruji! now I am leaving so please tell me what should I offer you as honorarium (reward)?"
"There is no need of it.", guruji replied.
He again requested , "Guruji! plz tell me what should I give you as honorarium?"
He again replied the same.
He again requested him repeatedly. But the rishi replied the same. When Kauts asked again and again, the rishi in a little bit anger, told him to give Fourteen Lakh (1.4 million) of golden coins as reward for the education that he had given to him. Listening that, he went out of the ashram and went straight to the peoples of the region in villages to give them teachings of vedas and he asked for money from them in return as he was collecting money for his Guruji through this way. When some months passed and he could not collect money of even a little golden coins, he became anxious.
A person of the village where he was wandering for begging, told him that he can not collect enough amount with this method. He advised him to go to the King Raghu and added that he could get his desired amount because the King was very kind to the scholars of Vedas.
By getting this advise he went to the palace of the King. When he reached there and asked for the King at the gate, he was sent to a room where he was entertained and welcomed high. For eating and drinking, the material was served to him in clay pots. Kauts was surprised that they did not have even a single golden or silver pot. He guessed that the king was poor and possibly he could not help to get the desired amount needed.
When the king Raghu with his wife came to him himself in the evening and asked about his health and any other requirement for what he came to the kingdom, he (Kauts) dared not to say anything else.
But when the king asked him again and again, the reason of his arrival, he told his wish before them.
In fact, Raja Raghu had just performed a great sacrifice for which the whole amount of his treasure was spent so he decided to get this amount for Kauts from Lanka where King Kubair reigned and ordered his army to attack on Lanka. When Kubair came to know that Raghu is about to attack Lanka, he himself came to Ayodhya with two chariots full of golden coins and ornaments.
Now in the court of Ayodhya all these three were gathered.
When Kubair gave that gold to Raghu, he requested Kauts to take the whole. But Kauts said, "O Sir! I need only fourteen lakh of golden coins. What shall I do to take more than it. I can not take more."
Kubair told Raghu to submit the remaining gold to his treasure and admitted that he has donated it to him so he can not take a bit of it back
Raghu said that he was a man who believe in taking amount whenever required and said that he had just done a grand sacrifice in which he had spent whole amount of his treasure as to lead a simple life similar to the people of his ruled area. This was the reason, he could not take the amount.
Now a dispute occured. When the incident was going on, Rishi Vashishtha reached there. He advised the King Raghu to donate the remaining amount to cows. So he sent the gold to the place where cows were looked after.
Now Kubair returned to his country happily. Kauts went straight to Ashram of his guru Vartentu. He gave the whole amount of fourteen Lakh golden coins to him. Vartentu said, "I accept your honorarium, o dear! now return it to them back from where u got it."
He said anxiously, "Guruji! There already a dispute have occured, they can not take it back."
Rishi Vartentu suggested him, "Collect material of oblation and let us arrange a grand sacrifice so that the money of the real honour of the gold may return back to them."
They performed a great Yagya with this amount and with the help of Yajana, that amount returned back, to the peoples who were real honour of that amount in the form of raining, fresh air and health.
This Yajana gives us health, fresh air, raining and protects us from harmful diseases. This it did for them.
So, through this incident of Treta Yug, we came to know that Yajna is the medium by which material and money of honours can be returned back to them indirectly.
The change what is done by Yajna make an effect positively on the real owner of the oblation material.
See u in the next post with more incidents of our Mythology.
